Copyright and takedown

Effective 23 Oct 2026 · If the Arabic and English texts differ, the Arabic text governs.

We respect the rights of authors, publishers and instructors, and we ask the same of everyone who uploads content to Mudarraj. This page explains how to tell us about content that infringes your rights, how the uploader can respond, and what we do about repeat infringers. It is governed by Egypt's Intellectual Property Rights Protection Law No. 82 of 2002.

Where to send notices

Send your notice to legal@mudarraj.dev with the subject line Copyright notice. You can write in Arabic or English. The notice must come from the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them.

The academy is responsible in the first place for what it publishes, and you can also contact it through its contact page. Sending the notice to us makes sure it follows the steps set out here.

What the notice must include

  1. The protected work: its title, its author, and the edition or a link to the original if there is one.
  2. Exactly where the infringing content is: the link to the course, lesson or file, and the timestamp in the video if possible.
  3. Who you are and how to reach you: your name, your capacity (rights holder or authorised agent), email, phone number and address.
  4. A good-faith statement: that you believe in good faith that this use of the content is not authorised by the rights holder or by law.
  5. An accuracy statement: that the information in the notice is correct and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your signature: a scanned handwritten signature or your full name typed.

If a notice is incomplete, we tell you what is missing before we take any action.

What we do when we receive a notice

  • Within 3 working days of receiving a complete notice, we remove the content or disable access to it.
  • We tell the academy and the uploader, and send them a copy of the notice including your name and contact details so they can respond.
  • We keep a copy of the removed content and a record of the notice as evidence in case of a dispute.
  • If the content is part of a paid course, the academy handles enrolled students under the refund policy.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter-notice to legal@mudarraj.dev within 14 days of being told about the removal. It must include:

  1. A description of the removed content and where it was before removal.
  2. A statement that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, or that you have the right or licence to publish it, with any supporting evidence.
  3. Your name and contact details.
  4. Your agreement that the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about the content.
  5. Your signature.

We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. After 10 working days we may restore the content, unless they tell us within that time that they have started legal action, such as filing a lawsuit or an official complaint.

Repeat infringers

  • If an account receives 3 valid notices within 12 months, we terminate it. A valid notice is one that hasn't been withdrawn or overturned by an accepted counter-notice or a court decision.
  • An academy that repeatedly ignores notices or republishes removed content may be suspended under the platform terms.

Misuse of the process

False or bad-faith notices and counter-notices harm other people. We may ignore them and restrict the account that sends them, and the sender may be liable for the damage under the law.
